What’s Coming In 2020? A Few Plans and My Approach to Resolutions
It’s 2020. Which is kind of mind blowing, especially considering this means my 20 year high school reunion is this year. How did that happen?!
The lightspeed rate at which time passes aside, I am really looking forward to this year. It feels like a year full of opportunity, unknown possibilities, some seriously fun projects and who knows what else but I am definitely feeling pretty darned good about it.
Although it’s off to a bumpy start. We recently discovered that someone managed to steal a substantial amount of money (aka almost everything) from our bank account via Venmo. I won’t get into the deets because, ugh I’m furious and disgusted and my faith in humanity is in question ATM. But PLEASE let this be a lesson and check all of your financials REGULARLY. We found ours within a couple of days so we were able to halt it before they got everything. We disputed, cancelled and filed a police report, etc. Just something to stay on top of, I don’t want this happening to you!

This is us, in all our real glory!
Bumpy ass moment aside, I’m excited about what’s coming up. I’ve been hard at work designing a major reno project. I’m still in process so I’m going to be tight lipped on that for now until it’s all sorted. But it’s been something I’ve been wanting to do for YEARS.
Our son just turned 16 and he wants to start driving this summer, the jury’s out on whether we think he’s ready for that or not. But he’s taking college credits at Sophmore year in high school so a solid maybe. Our daughter is finishing up her last year of middle school and my 2 youngest babies aren’t so much babies anymore but wanting to play tackle football and reading like a pro in the 1st grade. sniff sniff
My plans for the blog…continue to bring you honest truths and lifestyle sitches, loads of DIY projects and of course design on design on design.

The only Slytherin….the big grouchy in the back haha
I plan to also focus more on self care. I am woefully terrible at thinking about myself and tend to go until I drop. (I know so many of you relate) So I want to make sure I set aside time for myself every day. Right now that looks like rowing for 45 minutes (5 days a week) while watching some of my fave Netflix shows. We’ll see how that expands down the road but dang after 2 weeks of doing it already I am LOVING it.
I stopped drinking wine. WHAATT?! I know, that was a big one. But I decided I wanted to clean up my habits a bit and take a break from it. I”m not sure how long but I’m damn proud of myself for going over a week now.
I’ve also started meal planning again (healthy quick meals!) for my family and I plan to get them all on healthier eating habits and re-focusing on good foods vs bad foods. Plus cooking with my hubs doubles as quality time so win win.

When you say “free for all” you get some really fun shots.
The shop is something I really want to focus more on too. I have SO many cool pieces I haven’t even listed but have been collecting so keep a lookout for those coming soon!
In short I hope the shitty part of 2020 is about to be behind us (as soon as we hopefully get our money back and asshat is caught or run over by a bus, whichever comes first) and we can really knock the hell out of this year! I’m not a big believer in resolutions but more lifestyle and positivity changes. Let’s do this!
What about you? Are you a big resolution person? What is something you are looking forward to this year?
