A Vintage Sectional + An Aqua Concrete Floor = A Fab Living Room

I shared our family room makeover (here) where I swapped around ALL the furniture and rugs.  I promised you I would do a follow up post on what I did with our ginormous vintage sectional that was livin in here.. And I am delivering!  (that sounds like I’m giving birth which seems a bit dramatic haha)

Here was this living room before I started switching everything around.

Oh hey there vintage saxy! (to see this sectional in it’s original spot check it out here!)

We kept all of the pieces except one on the left side.  (which we stashed) It serves as an entry/exit into the sitting area of the sofa.

I love the contrast of the pattern on the wall with the pattern in the sofa.

Here’s your view directly behind the sofa.  I flanked the mid century cabinet with 2 funky table lamps to tie in the black and the swirly pattern on the sofa.

I seriously ogle those chandy’s every time I come down here.

Here’s a nice shot looking into the sofa area.  You can see where that missing piece is (on the right) I put a cute mirrored side table there instead.  Visually it keeps the space feeling open and light while providing a finished look to the sofa.

It fits down here really well!

I had to keep the vintage rug swatter thingy’s (I’m totally spacing on the name right now).  But I added a vintage sunset C. Jere style piece I have been meaning to list in the shop (coming soon I swear!).

And of course my $6 thrift store coffee table, oh yeah.

The view looking the other direction with my old boy Charlie in the shot.  He’s always around my feet somewhere. This sofa is SO comfy and I know it will come back up at some point.  But it sure is fun to rotate furniture and re-imagine it in ways that give a new feel to spaces.

So there it is!  The vintage sectional was def not going anywhere and it’s working mighty fine in here.  If you’ve got a space that is feeling blah, think about swapping around some of your furniture from other rooms!
