Christmas 2023 Home Tour

I wanted to share a little Christmas decor post with you and its better late than never right?!  I’m hearing that full on Christmas everything is more the vibe this year and I could not be happier to hear that, although you know I would never be in the “beige Christmas” category anyway.  It’s nice seeing folks embracing the color, whimsy and all the extra.

Ours is very much all about memories, family and of course thrifted pieces.   Here’s what the fam room looks like this year.

We opted to put the sofa together and off center to maximize space for the Christmas tree.  We caved a few years ago and picked up an artificial tree (more cost effective and less wasteful).  Plus its nice to be able to decorate when we’re ready.

We clad the tree in family ornaments ranging from tons of kids homemade, some hand me downs and lots of thrifted.  Every year I keep a lookout for interesting vintage ornaments at the thrift to add to the collection.

Our stockings are all made by my aunt, she stitched one for each child as they were born.

Our tradition for the tree has me opening all the storage boxes and handing the rest of the family ornaments while they decorate the tree.  The kids love doing the ornaments they look forward to it every year.

  And of course Herman gets a little sprucing up with some pink garland and a glitter wreath.

I styled up the dining room to give it a festive look.  (I’ll follow this post up with a budget friendly tablescape styling tutorial on what I did here!)

On the other side of this view I have our Christmas village.  Each one is a gift from my MIL over the years, receiving one a year.  We’ve amassed quite the collection!

Just outside the dining room in the entry is the fun pink tree.  I picked this up a handful of years ago and absolutely love the vibe it brings.

It’s completely covered in thrifted ornaments and of course tinsel.

Moving up our painted stairs (I’m thinking of a refresher on these in the new year) I draped some greenery over the railing which continues across the open walkway.

Here’s a view of the upper landing/walkway, it’s one of my personal favorites we do for Christmas.  At night the lights in the garland sparkle and light up the whole space.

Lastly I like to put a little Christmas cheer in the kitchen.  A draping of some pink garland and a wreath over the stove with pops of red throughout.

The whole vibe is extra and yes we used somewhere in the realm of 2 boxes of tinsel on this tree haha.  The kids had a blast with it.
