New Fam Room Look Full of Thrifted Finds!

Howdy do my friend!  I took an unintentional break from blog posts as life has been absolutely crazy the last couple of months.

It started with our oldest graduating high school.  We had a big celebration with lots of family that came to stay.  It was a fun yet emotional time.

This was almost immediately followed up by our vacay, an almost 2 week long camping road trip.  Of course along the way we stopped at all the little flea markets and thrifts because you know I just had to. 😁  And we celebrated my 40th birthday!

We got home from that trip and turned around a few days later for another short camping trip complete with Stanley Hotel tour for our daughters 16th birthday.  It was a blast and I may have been more into the buildings than listening to the tour guides but I was not at all creeped out haha.

Whew!  Which brings us to here, I haven’t had much time to do anything decor/home related since April and I was itching like the worst case of chicken pox to dive into some changes.  The easiest go to is always swapping furniture around that I have in the house, so that’s exactly what I did.

I brought the Togo back upstairs and moved the sectional downstairs, a bold pop of color felt so good.

I also wanted to incorporate a couple of more recent thrifting finds.  I recently found this chair/ottoman combo at our local Arc store for $19.99.  The only change I made was to remove the skirting which immediately resulted in an updated look.  Herman, the life size baby elephant is chillin in the corner and my paper mache fish lamps are just hangin out picking up on the mustard chair.   (You can peep the grandfather clock how to here.)

The woven snail “baskets” rest on an iron table that I found on our recent roadtrip.

An overhead view, I chose not to use traditional side tables this time on either side of the Togo.  On the bottom there is a set of  mushroom stools which paired with a FB marketplace vintage coffee table.

I collect old books so I thought it would be fun to stack some together to create a “side table”.  Since the Togo is so low to the ground I can customize the height to the exact need but also it’s a fun unexpected way to use them.

I love to change things up often and this was a spur of the moment, let’s see what I can put together kind of look.  We’ll see how long I keep it this way, any bets?!
