Whimsical Parisian Style Bedroom Tour
I realized its been ages since I shared an updated main bedroom tour! There have been some changes from swapping furniture to the addition of lots of thrifted finds and a finally finished entry space.
The style is very much in the direction of elegant french chateau with a spin. So let’s dive in!
First up we have to talk about the entry vignette. This space is so awkward, it’s really small so not much fits here. I spent 10 years trying different things and never really loved any of it. Until I came across this antique inlay table for $80 at a local antique mall. It was the perfect size, shape and look.
The rest fell into place after that! I put this mirror behind it for a wow moment (a diy gold leaf project you can see here). Then styled the top with a few of my favorite finds; a thrifted floral painting, ceramic bird sculptures and a mid century lamp I scored at a summer flea market.
I will never be changing it now. I’m an impatient person but this was so worth the wait.
Moving into the bedroom area here’s a fun overview shot showing layout and flow. Yes we use that sofa and chair to sit in, although they do act as catch-alls too.
I snagged the sofa and chair from FB marketplace. They are antique pieces with the most luxurious purple mohair making them crazy comfortable to sit in.
I love the chair for sipping coffee and we use the sofa for chit chats or hanging out while one of us is getting ready and is really slow. (it’s me I’m the slow one)
The coffee table is another fb marketplace find and a total favorite of mine.
I love sitting here for a little hiding spot. The mirror is wrapped in metal and I popped an old feather hair piece to the corner for an extra moment.
The floral candle and cloche are both thrift finds.
The nighstands are antique with green onyx tops from fb marketplace. I love the clean lines of them with the details really elevating the style. The brass lamps are from an estate sale and the cutout shades were thrifted.
The little frosted elephant dish and floral sculpture bring a glass element to this area. (both pieces thrifted)
I moved my frosted glass console back in here under the window, I think it’s my favorite spot to use it. This piece came from a friend that sources unique pieces.
I’ve got a sweet floral field painting sitting on a mini brass easel as well as some art coffee table books, a vase and wooden love birds for texture. Just a compilation of things I love. Everything but the glass console was thrifted.
Opposite that of course I did a little seating setup.
I popped some art here I’ve had for years along with a bejeweled mannequin made by a local artist. The lamp table was a recent fb marketplace score and I rub n buffed the candle sconces. (peep that here!)
Opposite the bed is the fireplace. You can see how I designed and diy’d this here. I styled it with some thrifted floral art, candle holders and a bench I gold leafed.
It’s functional, comfortable and cozy. I’m loving this version right now, although I’m contemplating some ceiling ideas so stay tuned for possible projects, just don’t tell my husband yet. 😆
