DIY Thrifted Front Door Wreath
In the spirit of sprucing up the outdoors for summer, (peep the back patio here) I wanted to jazz up the front with some color.
We have this big wood front door that feels so heavy and the easiest way to give it some color was a wreath. I looked all over including Home Goods and was shocked how expensive they are, especially in a large size. Well over $100 which seemed ridiculous and left me prepared to have a naked front door.
As luck would have it I actually stumbled on this big beauty at Goodwill for $20.
Perfect large size and already had greenery with a neutral base.
It was a little bland for me so I decided to make it extra. Another thrifting trip and I snagged several faux florals to add to it.
I paid $15 for the bunch
All I did was weave the new florals into the existing wiring on the wreath.
In total it took me maybe 15 minutes to do the whole thing.
When I finished it looked like this!

Here’s a full porch shot, I really like to maximize the use of the space. We sit out here when our kids are riding bikes or skateboards, its really welcoming.
Our house is brown (totally not my fave argh) so any way I can add some color is a win.
I found these vintage molded chairs on Facebook marketplace, they are incredibly comfortable. They also bring a nice brightness and give the colorful pillows and flowers a backdrop to really pop.
The ceramic toads are super old and were a flea market find
It’s a small space but definitely comfortable and colorful.
Peep the chandelier in the big window above the door, and my jade foo dogs guarding against all the bad energy.
I used some faux greenery panels from my kitchen island project (peep that here) and put them at the top of the planters for an extra jooj.

I think for $35 +tax this turned out really well! A huge cost savings and a pop of color, I call that a win.
