A Few New Fab Finds! This is Why I Thrift Shop
It’s been a hot minute since I shared some pieces I’ve scored while thrifting/flea marketing, etc. To be honest, I haven’t had much luck at all in the last couple of months. Cue my sad face. ; (
Alas that is how the thrifting game goes, sometimes you win big and sometimes you just go home empty handed. I hate when that happens, sniff sniff.
Anyway, I found a few great pieces recently and I thought I would share, you know to get you into that thrifting mood!
Ok I didn’t pick this up but I spotted it at one of my fave consignment shops last week. I was SO tempted! The fabric is cute but I was envisioning it reupholstered in a bold modern fabric.
Super cool Mid Century Sectional
I found this cast iron and velvet tufted bench at a flea market and about fell over. It’s got this insanely gorgeous shape to the base. And of course I’m a sucker for anything velvet and tufted on top of it.
My daughter and I hauled it all the way up to the front, paid and loaded that sucker.
This isn’t a flea market/thrift find but I’m hyper focused on interesting and unique pieces. This stool totally had me at hello when I spotted it at Home Goods. I’m actually using it as a side table!
It’s got faces all the way around!
I liked the tractor stools when we found those for our bar several years ago. But as I’m doing the kitchen for the ORC and have some ideas in mind for a stool change there, I have been keeping my eyes peeled for something different for the bar too.
Stools can get really expensive, I found these as a set of 4 for $120 from a flea market!
Here’s what I love about these….they are vintage, the shape of the base and the brass color. I hate the brown seat upholstery.
My plan is to reupholster them in something much more colorful. DIY comin at ya soon when I find an awesome fabric.
And then this sweet vintage rattan shelf. I have it in the jungle powder bath right now (I just put this in here yesterday so I haven’t styled it yet). And I’m testing out the size, trying to decide if it will stay in here or not. But it’s a really cute shelf that I scored at the thrift store!
The cute arch shape with the removable shelves, It’s an awesome textured piece!
That’s the thing with thrifting or flea market hunting, you just never know when you will find that piece of a lifetime or go home with nadda. The thrill of the hunt as I call it.
